February 2023

It may be a little slow on your farm, but that's not the case at CLAAS! We're celebrating a major update to our main production facility in Harsewinkel Germany, hosting hundreds of people attending the USCHI Convention, and training tons of technicians in our CLAAS Academy. We are also excited to announce the launch of CLAAS FARMPOINT -- a new type of dealership -- in Kentucky and showcase a special deal on VARIANT 400 Series balers.

Onward and upward.

The CLAAS main assembly hall transformed in 4 months.

In 1952, the company’s first self-propelled combine harvester named “HERCULES” rolled off the shiny floors of a brand new production hall in Harsewinkel, Germany. The production facilities, just like the machines it produced, were state-of-the-art. In 1958, the hall was expanded to accommodate the production of the next-generation “HUCKEPACK” combine harvester. New additions followed, offering more and more space for expanding lines of self-propelled equipment, including the JAGUAR forage harvester and XERION tractor.

The US Custom Harvesters Convention is a yearly gathering of professionals who make their living in the cabs of combines and forage harvesters. Some follow the wheat harvest from Texas to Canada, harvesting fields along the way. Others are focused on forage production, cutting alfalfa and chopping silage for dairy farms within a certain radius of their operation.

In December, CLAAS announced plans to build a company-owned dealership offering the full line of CLAAS equipment, with the first store slated for western Kentucky. Two months later, the company has a lot more to share, starting with a name: CLAAS FARMPOINT™.

It’s Training Season at the CLAAS Academy

Things get busy in Omaha.

Keeping in tip-top shape is paramount for CLAAS technicians. They need to keep pace with the challenges and demands to maintain and service CLAAS machinery around the clock, so the winter months are considered “peak training season” at the CLAAS Academy.
