It all starts with the new APS SYNFLOW WALKER, which provides up to 25% more throughput. The 30-inch threshing cylinder is 26% larger to improve crop flow and grain quality. Speedy transport

The topic of conversation – SHREDLAGE®.

“Anytime you can advance the efficiency of production by intensifying machine performance without losing precision is a sure win for optimizing the production of your herd,” stated Jaynes.

Invented by North American dairy nutritionists Ross Dale and Roger Olson, SHREDLAGE is a longer cut corn silage that features intensively crushed kernels and “shredded” material that provide greater nutritional benefits to dairy and beef cattle. The patented process is available exclusively for the JAGUAR forage harvester. SHREDLAGE is made using longer cut corn silage and specially designed rolls that intensively crush corn kernels while shredding the rest of the plant. A number of university studies prove that SHREDLAGE supports greater milk production and improved rumination in cattle with superior packing density at the silage pile.

Later in the program, Matt and Roger were joined by University of Nebraska Associate Professor of Animal Science, Karla Wilke, PhD, who explained that in the study she conducted, beef cattle fed 9% SHREDLAGE as part of their diet experienced a 7.4% greater feed-to-gain ratio and 5.4% better average daily gain than feed containing 14% conventionally chopped and processed corn silage.

The advantages of a pre-harvest inspection are pretty clear – avoid potential breakdowns in the field and optimize grain quality. Whether you complete your own inspection or to hire your dealer, remember these key points.

Dealers like volume

Dealers like to keep their service techs productive in the summer to help prevent problems that might arise in the fall. They will appreciate – and reward – customers who can help them do so. Does your operation own more than a single combine or forage harvester? How about tractors? Consider taking them in when business is slower. The best time of year? The winter.

Thinking of trading?

Whether you are thinking of trading in your combine next year or not, you should be prepared in case a trade-up opportunity presents itself. Your dealer may make you an offer on a new machine that is too good to pass by. If your trade-in has been through a factory-authorized shop with certified service techs and is ready-to-go to the field, you’ll have a greater opportunity to get top dollar for your trade.

Respect for your maintenance record

It’s a fact. Banks, equipment dealers, and used combine buyers have great respect for machine owners who take good care of their machinery. Buyers will pay a higher price if you’ve got a stellar maintenance record with factory-trained and certified providers.  Remember, even if you decide to do your own service work, it’s important you keep stellar maintenance records.

Uptime, uptime, uptime

Obviously, you want your machine to be ready-to-go to the field the day you pull it out of the shed. Your dealer wants you to be trouble-free, too. Your CLAAS dealer’s service department will often put your breakdown calls at the top of the list if your machine has been through their dealer pre-harvest inspection. If you’re willing to plan ahead and be proactive you better believe your dealer will be at your beck and call should you need assistance during the harvest.

He will represent Nebraska in Germany as a place for business and assist Nebraska companies in their expansion efforts in the country. Governor Pete Ricketts appointed Dr. Freye to the newly created position at the end of May.

Dr. Freye’s position is part of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED), the lead economic development agency for the state. The DED International Business Development team promotes international investment in Nebraska and promotes Nebraska companies on a global scale. This follows the November 2019 trade mission to Germany in which Gov. Rickett’s goal was to deepen Nebraska’s relations with Germany and open new partnerships in the agricultural sector, given that it equates to 20 percent of Nebraska’s economic output.

DED Director Anthony Goins says they are pleased to have Dr. Freye lead the Nebraska Center Germany now because Nebraska companies are becoming increasingly more involved in the country.

“With Theo’s assistance, we hope to capture the momentum from Gov. Ricketts’ November 2019 trade mission to Germany,” Goins says.
