Corporate News:

CLAAS Omaha Gains New President After Salz Retirement

We are excited to announce Matthias “Matt” Ristow as the new President and Managing Director, Business Administration of CLAAS Omaha, the combine production company for CLAAS in North America. Ristow has been with the company for six years, and moves into his new role after serving as Vice President-Finance and Operations.

He replaces 19-year company veteran Maury Salz, who recently retired to live on his family farm in Northwest Iowa. During his time at CLAAS, Salz was responsible for many areas, including research and development, purchasing, quality, logistics and manufacturing. Most recently, he oversaw the production of the all-new 8000-7000 Series LEXION combines.

“We would like to thank Maury very much for his successful work at CLAAS throughout the years,” says Leif Magnusson, President of CLAAS Global Sales – Americas. “Many of our North American operations were shaped and further developed under his hard work and effective leadership. He had a hand in the evolution of the LEXION combine in North America for nearly two decades.”

Salz also served as president for the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and participated in executive committees for the advancement of Agricultural and Biological Engineering.

The Incoming President

Like CLAAS, Ristow is from Germany and then went on to international success. He came to the U.S. as a high school exchange student and stayed to earn his bachelor’s in business general administration and a master’s degree in international business from Fresno State in California. He has worked in Germany, the U.S., UAE and Turkey.

“Looking ahead, we are extremely excited for Matt to take on this new role,” says Magnusson. “We recognize his dedication to continuously improving our products, and we are more than confident in his leadership for CLAAS Omaha.”
